Mother's Day Weekend
Yesterday we had a blast in Monterey, visiting the aquarium and hanging out on Cannery Row...
The fun continued on the way home, until our car stopped shifting into gear 25 miles south of San Francisco and we found ourselves stranded by the side of the road with a sleeping toddler at about 10:00pm. Not to worry! A short while later with the carseat installed in the back of a tow truck we were headed home, with Sullivan belting out "Wheels on the Bus" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" for the tow truck driver.
Today, for Mother's Day, Sullivan gave me a lovely MOM crown.
And planters filled with sunflower seeds, since they mean a lot to our family.
Then we headed to Chabot Space and Science Center for some spaced-out family fun.
Napa
I'm using Mother's Day to catch up on posting photos on the blog. Here are a few from a couple weekends ago when the highway behind our house was being demolished and we ran away to Napa (where Andrew was shooting a wedding anyway). We had a ton of fun driving through wine country, visiting a geyser, and touring Train Town. Sullivan emerged from the adventure asking if he could have a geyser in our backyard, and occasionally -usually when he isn't thrilled with how life is going- still says "I want to go to Napa!" Don't we all...

Sullivan Turns 3!!!
A bit belatedly, photos collected from Sullivan turning the big 0-3.
Balloons to start his birthday morning...
His first pair of real skates were his present from us (and he's wearing a crown from his friends at school):
Opening presents...lucky boy! Thank you everyone!
Cupcakes!
And you can view photos from Sullivan's Robot Party here. It was a hit! Especially the part where Sullivan "turned on" a robot (named "Crick Crick" by Sullivan) that he and his dad had spent weeks constructing. it was pretty amazing.
