This few seconds of video from one of Sullivan's recent swim "lessons" is not exciting on, say, the scale of an Olympic race, but we still think he looks pretty cute just chillin' in the pool.

We're not sure what to think about a future singing career for Sullivan, or why exactly the alphabet is so darn funny.

Good Mornin'
When we go in to get Sullivan from his naps, or after a "good" (much improved, at least) night's sleep, we sing "Good Mornin'" to him (thank you, Grandma, for my "Singing In the Rain" education). It is fast becoming his FAVORITE song.

Carrots...Yummy!
Sullivan had his first "meal" of solid foods tonight! He was a trooper, especially considering the fact that we used a spoon that was far too large (I forgot to put his baby spoon in the dishwasher in preparation for the dining experience), and that initially he wasn't sure what he thought about the taste of carrots (Andrew got some still photographs of the interesting faces he made after his very first bites, and we'll try to post those at some point too). His uncertainty soon vanished, though, as you'll see in the video below. Before long he was crying every time we took the spoon away from his mouth!

New Sullivan Footage
Sullivan has always been a (generally) very happy baby, but lately he's developed into an utterly shameless flirt. It is impossible, for example, to carry on a conversation with another person whilst he sits on your lap without him distracting the other person with smile after smile after smile. Again, he's shameless. He's also still pretty chatty.
At a recent doctor's visit we were told that not only was he unbelievably "smiley" (he also showed off his new trademark laugh, which we have yet to manage to capture on video, but which is something like the chuckle of a 35 year-old coming from a 4 month-old), but that he was also the cutest baby they've had in there in a long time. Naturally we were offended by the qualification "in a long time"; clearly they meant to say "ever".
Judge for yourself based on the footage below. Now if we could just get him to sleep through the night by his 18th birthday...

Update
So, we've been absent from the blog for a bit... Sorry about that! Here's a brief update.
Sullivan will be 4 months old this Saturday...Hard to believe! He continues to be a very happy (lots of smiles and giggles) and very spirited little man (let's just say that going down for a nap is NOT his favorite thing). He went in for his 4-month doctor's visit 2 weeks early, and at that point measured 25" long and weighed in at a whopping 17 lbs! So he remains a very, uh, healthy "little" boy. The doctor assured Andrew that there is no need to worry about the fact that right now it appears as though Sullivan has no knees... He's pretty sure they are hiding underneath his rolls somewhere.
Below are some photos of Sullivan at 14 and 15 weeks, including some snaps of bath time, and Sullivan and I bundled up for our nightly walk (bear in mind that San Francisco summers are a bit chillier than one might imagine).
More to follow soon! xo
