Sullivan has been traveling quite a bit (as have his parents), which is our excuse for the lack of blog entries lately...
In the past month we've been up the northern California coast to Mendocino, back to the midwest for a stay in Chicago, and all the way out to the East Coast for Sullivan's first visit to New York City. Our travels were chock full of adventures but Sullivan especially enjoyed celebrating his Oma & Grampy and Nana & Poppy's 30th and 40th (respectively) wedding anniversaries!
I'm sure more professional images of our adventures (courtesy of our personal paparazzi) will follow at some point, but in the meantime I've posted some recent photos below. Also, our friend Kevin did post a more clear version of his beautiful video that I shared a few weeks back. Here is that link:

In other Sullivan news... He has been walking for about 6 weeks now (since about 13 months old), and he LOVES his newfound freedom. He's also talking up a storm, although we're not always sure what he's saying. While counting with him, Sullivan's "Tia Brittany" taught him how to say the number "six"; he seems to like saying it A LOT, so we've taken to trying to impress people by asking him what 3+3 equals, or what 66 divided by 11 is, and he usually answers proudly, "six!" We're hoping this will help us with preschool admissions.
Tonight Andrew is shooting a wedding, but I woke Sullivan up, wrapped him in our warmest blanket, and walked to the end of our street to watch the Fourth of July fireworks over the bay. Sleepy though he was, he looked on wide-eyed through the dark, and after every few colorful explosions he would smile a huge grin and turn into me to wrap his arms around my neck in a fierce, excited hug.
I’ve always found fireworks to be magical, but never more so than tonight. Happy Fourth of July!
At Washington Square Park in Chicago, right around the corner from Nana and Poppy's house:
Playing in the fountain at a playground Finnoulay introduced Sullivan (and Trent!) to. I think he's pretending to be that bear in the background...
Eating freeze-dried strawberries. Yummmmm!
Unpacking (so helpful!):
